Class 15 – Shoulders and Neck, part 2

This is the second video in the series on Shoulders and Neck. This time the postures are all done lying down, on a yoga mat or even on a bed, and are inspired, in part, as before by Martha Peterson’s (2011) somatics practices. The postures include: a constructive rest pose, focussed on centring and developing a relaxing breath; a side-lying thoracic rotation; the Martha Peterson inspired “Pulling on an imaginary rope”; and ‘Voguing’ (yes, after Madonna!) with the arms.

I am a British Wheel of Yoga teacher in the North East of England. I set up this site for students who normally attend my yoga classes as an alternative way of practising during the pandemic. I have maintained an online class (on Mondays 17.45-19.15) and have resumed face-to-face teaching at Blue Flames Benton on Thursdays 17.45-19.15.
